Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following statement on the results of the provincial election in Prince Edward Island:

“On May 4, 2015, the people of Prince Edward Island gave Wade MacLauchlan a mandate to continue to serve as their Premier.

“On behalf of the Government of Canada, I would like to congratulate Premier Wade MacLauchlan and his party on their election victory.

“I look forward to continuing to work with Premier MacLauchlan on issues that matter to the people of Prince Edward Island and all Canadians, including promoting jobs, growth and long-term prosperity across the province and country.”
