Largest financial inclusion drive in the world
• Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana has emerged as the largest financial inclusion initiative in the world
• Under the PAHAL scheme for LPG subsidy, Rs 1,757 cr has been transferred to the beneficiary accounts via banking network
• So far, 19 out of 35 Direct Benefits Schemes have been rolled out across the country, including MGNREGS in 300 districts

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship programme, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) has emerged as the largest financial inclusion initiative in the world with 11.5 crore bank accounts opened under the scheme and has entered the Guinness Book of World Records.
Giving details about the success of the scheme, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said the PMJDY is a game changer for the economy as it has provided the platform for Direct Benefits Transfer (DBT) which will help in plugging leakages in subsidies and provide savings to the exchequer.
Under the PAHAL scheme which is the Direct Benefits Transfer in LPG subsidy, an amount of Rs 1,757 crore has been transferred to the beneficiary accounts through the banking network.
