Investigators from the 11 Division Neighbourhood Policing Bureau have charged a 14 year-old young person from the City of Mississauga in relation to a threatening incident.

On Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Peel Regional Police were made aware of a social media post that indicated a potential threat towards St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School in Mississauga.

School Resource Officers attended the school and were able to locate the young person believed to be responsible for the social media post and placed him under arrest without incident. No weapons were located.

The young person will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on a future date in answer to the charge of Uttering Threats, contrary to the Criminal Code.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identities of the Young Persons charged in this investigation are protected.
