Yakub Memon to be hanged on July 30?

Key charges against Yakub:

• Arranging finances and managing disbursement by generating the same through Mulchand Shah Choksi for committing the terror act.
• Arranging air tickets for conspirators to undergo weapons training in Pakistan.
• Purchasing vehicles to plant bombs in them.
• Being in possession of hend grenades and detonators.

Yakub Memon who is infamously known for his conviction in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts case is likely to be hanged at 7 am on July 30.However, the condition applies only if the Supreme Court turns down his mercy plea on July 21.

As per reports Maharashtra government has already started the process of execution after the Supreme Court rejected a review petition filed by Memon on April 9.

But, Memon filed a second review petition with the apex court, which is expected to come up on July 21. President Pranab Mukherjee has already turned down Memon’s mercy plea last year.Memon, a chartered accountant, is the brother of fugitive terror mastermind Ibrahim Mushtaq ‘Tiger’ Memon and is accused of involving in planning and plotting the serial blasts that killed 257 people and injured about 700 on March 12, 1993.
