The SGPC is all geared up to move the Supreme Court over the release of Sikh detainees who have already completed their jail terms.
SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar said, “We will soon be filing a petition in the Supreme Court regarding its last year’s ruling that put a bar on the release of such detainees.
Besides, the Punjab Government is also preparing to take up the matter with the apex court.” He said they were resorting to legal recourse not for a single detainee, but for all of them. Earlier, they had taken up the issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, he added
