“I wish Shahid well, and I am sure Saif wishes him the same. It is a great journey, and a great feeling. It is a moment of happiness for him; don’t turn it into a soap opera,” said Kareena, adding, “We should all understand that, and act a little restrained. I hope the media will do the same. It is not a movie. We should just stick to the fact that I wish him nothing but happiness and joy in his married life.”

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor tied the knot in a low-key ceremony at a farm house on the outskirts of the Capital on Tuesday July 7; attended by close relatives and friends. Shahid, 34, exchanged vows with 21-year-old Mira according to the traditions of the Radha Soami sect as their parents are the followers of the group.

At the pre-wedding function held in Delhi, that only Shahid’s close friends and family were invited to, Shahid did a special performance for Meera on some of his favourite songs from the movies he’s worked in and boy! Was it cute? Meera was so charmed with Shahid’s surprise act that the soon to wed couple later began dancing together like no one’s watching, they also cuddled cutely. Mira wore a lemon yellow coloured lehenga choli while Shahid looked elegant in a red coloured Nehru jacket over his churidar kurta.

After the Chattarpur home wedding, Shahid and Mira with their parents made their way to the Trident, a five-star hotel in Gurgaon for the after-party. As many as 50 rooms were blocked in Trident, Gurgaon, for the family and guests, and the Presidential Suite of The Oberoi, Gurgaon, was occupied by Shahid himself added a source. The source further added that the Presidential Suite costs over Rs.600,000 plus taxes per night.

The invitation card for Shahid-Mira’s wedding had made its way to social media a couple of days back. Crafted in off-white and green colours, the card was a visual delight of sorts. Sources say that over 600 people had been invited for the wedding. Shahid personally picked everything — the colours, the gifts, the peacock logo.

While Shahid’s wardrobe had been designed by Kunal Rawal, Mira’s trousseau was by Anamika Khanna.
