Actress Vidya Balan, who started her acting career with television soap, ‘Hum Paanch’ is returning to small screen almost after two decades. Vidya is in talk with a production house for a talk show.
A celeb magazine from India quoted its source as saying, “An international production house had approached Vidya a couple of months ago to host a Ted Talk show. She liked the concept and discussed several ideas with the makers to make the show successful. They are still figuring out a list of celebrated figures from different fields who would be interested in being featured on the show.”
Vidya Balan, who is the brand ambassador of national sanitation spoke about women empowerment, “I think we have a long way to go before every woman in the country feels empowered. But I do think that with each passing day, some woman is discovering her own power, so women’s empowerment is not just a national issue.
“I feel very proud to say that I’ve been a part of some path-breaking films. I’ve had the good fortune. I’ve experienced that change myself, and it is definitely better for actresses today. And it can only get better from here,” the magazine quoted Vidya as saying.
