Farmer’s markets are here to stay, such is its popularity among Ontarians. Shoppers love it, because it gives them the opportunity to buy high quality/fresh foods and products from local farmers.
For farmers such open-air markets provide a good source of income and it also helps them to connect with their customers.
The 2015 Oakville Farmers Market
This year, despite being the location moved to, Centennial Square, the farmers market still continues to draw more shoppers or customers. Likewise, this year too, has the best farmers and vendors from Ontario. Let’s have a look at the main attractions this year.

Meet the Flower Lady

Janet Ternes, better known as the Flower Lady, owns a gorgeous flower farm at Rattlesnake Harbour. She has been part of the Farmers Market for around 20 years and still enjoys a good client following.
“I have a small family farm at Rattlesnake Harbour. However, cultivating and selling vegetables alone couldn’t earn a living. So I decided to turn it into a flower farm,” recalls Janet, who believes farmers markets are a blessing for mediocre farmers.

Fine Wine with Coyote’s run

Coyote’s Run, located at Niagara – on- the – Lake, famous for hand crafted- wines, marked with quality and distinctiveness also made its way to Oakville farmers market.

Food safety and access to local products are the main factors that make farmers market popular.
