Son Charged in 17th Homicide of 2019

Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau are investigating the seventeenth homicide of 2019.

On Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at approximately 6:15 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Shelby Crescent in Mississauga in regards to an assault. Upon arrival, Mariantonia Biunno an 88-year-old woman was located suffering from life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital where she later died from her injuries which were caused by blunt force trauma.

Her son Antonio Biunno attended a local police station shortly after the incident and surrendered himself to police.

The Antonio Biunno is a 52-year-old man from Mississauga. He attended the Ontario Court of Justice on September 4, 2019 in answer to the charge of Second Degree Murder.
