Rafael Nadal believes he has relegated his quarter-final defeat to Novak Djokovic at the French Open to history and his focus has shifted to the grass-court season. The world No.10 Spaniard was all praise for the quality of the grass courts at the Stuttgart tournament, which was previously played on clay.Nadal won his opening doubles match with Feliciano Lopez and said he did not want to make a big deal out of what was only his second-ever defeat at the French Open.
Nadal said: “It’s not the time to think about it today. First time on grass [in Stuttgart] is always hard. I’m going to try my best. Now I get to play two weeks before Wimbledon for the first time, so I hope that helps.“
Nadal is aiming for the top prize in Germany and added: “I have to improve my intensity on the court. If I can do that, I am confident I can get back to the highest level.“
