Toronto—Premier Kathleen Wynne and the Ontario Liberal Caucus hosted more than 250 Muslim Ontarians at Queen’s Park yesterday at a reception to celebrate Eid ul Fitr.

“As our Muslim friends and neighbours marked the end of the holy month of Ramadan, we wanted to join them in recognizing the importance of this celebration in Ontario,” Premier Wynne said. “Coming together to break the fast with so many friends—community activists, young professionals, small business owners and religious leaders—serves as a reminder of just how fortunate we are to be here in Ontario, the best place in the world to live, work, worship and raise a family.”

In addition to the Queen’s Park Eid reception, Premier Wynne and Ontario Liberal MPPs participated in over 30 Ramadan and Eid events in cities across the province in June and July to honour the long-standing friendship between Ontario Liberals and Ontario’s Muslim community and to recognize the contributions the community has made to the province’s economic, social and cultural success.
