Police hunt for black Honda Civic in Scarborough hit-and-run

Police are searching for a black Honda Civic after a pedestrian was struck in a hit-and-run in the Neilson Road and Sewells Road area of Scarborough.

A woman suffered a leg injury and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the vehicle fled the scene and was last seen travelling eastbound on Sewells Road.

Girl, 13, charged in Christmas Day stabbing of 16-year-old

A 13-year-old girl is facing attempted murder charges following a Christmas Day stabbing in Flemingdon Park that left another teenage girl with serious injuries. The confrontation happened last Friday in the shopping plaza near Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East.

The suspect can’t be named because she is underage. She’s facing six charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault and carrying a concealed weapon. She was  scheduled to make a court appearance Monday morning. Officers from 54 Division were called to the plaza at about 6:50 p.m. on Friday evening by reports of screaming, people fighting and a girl covered in blood.  The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital in critical condition but has since been listed as stable.

Police Seeking Public’s Assistance in Identifying Suspects in Home Invasion

Investigators with the Central Robbery Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance after a home invasion in the area of Fontainebleu Road and Louvain Drive in the City of Brampton.

On Wednesday December 23, 2015 at approximately 8:30 p.m., the two victims were in their residence in Brampton when unknown suspects gained entry into their home. Demands were made to the victims and when they were not met, both were assaulted. Both victims sustained minor injuries and were transported to local hospital.

Investigators continue to investigate this matter and have no further suspect information for release at this time.

Arrest made in prostitution investigation

Investigators with the Major Drugs and Vice Unit made an arrest in relation to prostitution related offences.   

On Wednesday December 23, 2015 at approximately 5:30pm, officers arrested a male party in the area of Ridelle Avenue and Times Road in the city of Toronto.  

Devante WILLIAMS, a 24 year old Toronto resident, is charged with two counts of Procuring person under 18 years, material benefit from sexual services provided by person under 18 years, sexual assault, sexual interference and for two counts of making or publishing child pornography. Devante WILLIAMSwas held for a Bail Hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton, on Thursday, December 24, 2015.
