BRAMPTON, ON: The City of Brampton continues to add new events and activities to its existing range of programming in cultural and public squares.
Artists’ Marketplace
The City of Brampton is launching a new program to connect residents with local artists and artisans. Beginning in September, the City will host an Artists’ Marketplace alongside the Farmers’ Markets. The Marketplace will run on Saturdays starting September 12 from 7 am to 1 pm in downtown Brampton’s Garden Square, and Thursdays starting September 10 from 3 to 7 pm in Mount Pleasant Village Square. The program will run in both locations from September to October.
Items for sale will include hand-made jewelry, illustrations, greeting cards, wood working, ceramics, fashion accessories, photography, paintings, knitting and more. Anyone looking for a unique gift is sure to find it at the Artists’ Marketplace.
Applications are being accepted from artists and craftspeople wishing to participate as vendors until August 21. Please visit www.brampton.ca for vendor guidelines and details on how to apply.
Stomp ‘n’ Stampede in the Square
The City of Brampton, in partnership with Nashville North, is hosting a country-themed evening of music, activities and entertainment in Garden Square on Sunday, August 16 from 6 to 10 pm. Country music fans should make their way to downtown Brampton for this family-friendly event, featuring a live performance by singer-songwriter Vanessa Marie Carter.
Test your skills on a mechanical bull ride, practise your line dancing steps with instruction by the Double Trouble Line Dance Team, or just sit back on the patio and listen to the music played by DJ Johnny Rivex. Admission is free!
