MPP Dipika Damerla’s BBQ a Huge Success

MPP Dipika Damerla’s 4^th Annual Community BBQ, held on Saturday September 12^th,  attracted close to 2500 people despite the rain. The attendees were treated to a variety of cultural performances, games, arts & crafts, sports, and delicious food.

MPP Damerla thanked the community for the huge turnout and the incredible amount of support that she has received over the years.  She said that her doors are always open for the constituents and would be happy to speak to them and address their issues and concerns. She also thanked the large contingent of volunteers who worked hard to make the event a success.

Television personality Sarabjit Rana served as the master of the ceremony for the event and ensured a smooth functioning of the entertainment program. Artists from the following groups performed  at the event: The Lira Trio (Ukrainian singing group), Marie Ann Longlade School of Dance, Vychodna Slovak Dancers, Barathanatyam Dancers, Silayan Seniors, Radosc-Joy  (Polish Vocal and Dance Ensemble), and Xin Tian Di Senior Association.

The clowns, a bouncy castle, and arts & crafts were a big draw with the kids. A cricket match was also held.  Five lucky attendees were chosen from a draw and received tablets, cordless phone, Bluetooth, and a gift certificate
