Kangana Ranaut, the girl from the hills with starry-eyed dreams who went on to
become Bollywood’s reigning queen, has decided to return to her roots. Unlike an
extravagant contemporary home, the star is building a traditional house kath-
khuni architecture style of the mountainous state of Himachal Pradesh. Keeping the
topography and climate in mind, the candid and daring actor’s fortress will be built
using native original materials like wood and stone along with bricks.
According to reports in a leading daily from India, Kangana said, “Laying the first
brick of my house was an important decision. I have my own place in Mumbai, and I
could have got a house anywhere in the world. But people back home call
me Himachal ki beti. I am overwhelmed with the love I receive from my
people.” Based in a secluded area for privacy, with a breathtaking view, in a tranquil
location in Manali, the new acquisition shall play the role of a getaway in solitude
whenever the celebrity gets time.
Coming from a politically influential family, Ranaut hails from Surajpur in Himachal
Pradesh and since the clan owns several acres of land, the actress felt it was the
time she had a house of her own on her home soil. The versatile actor has also
shown interest in setting up an organic farm, a concept that has caught on in a big
way in her home state.
Home is where the heart is, right Kangana?
