Jason Kenney, Conservative candidate for Calgary Midnapore, issued the following statement on reports of ISIS possession and usage of chemical weapons:

“I am extremely concerned with reports that ISIS has used chemical agents in an attack on Kurdish Forces in Iraq. This further demonstrates the serious threat that this genocidal death cult poses to those in the region, and to the security of our own people.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Harper, Canada will not stand idly by while ISIS and its affiliates continue their murderous rampage against religious and ethnic minorities, plan attacks on Canadians, spawn splinter cells from North Africa to South Asia, and radicalize youngsters in the West, including Canadians.

“Only the Conservative Party understands the threat that such terrorists pose to Canada.  This is why under Prime Minister Harper’s leadership, Canada is participating with our allies in the international coalition against ISIS to protect our security and that of innocent civilians threatened by ISIS.  As the Prime Minister has said, we cannot sit on the sidelines, we must confront those who threaten us with moral clarity, strength and resolve.”
