Italy legend Maldini expects to recover ‘within a week’

Former Italy captain Paolo Maldini said that he expects to recover “within a week” after being diagnosed with the new coronavirus. Maldini, 51, now the technical director at AC Milan, and his 18-year-old son Daniel, a youth team player, had been in self-isolation at home for two weeks.

Bangla cricketers to donate half-salary
Bangladesh’s cricketers have decided to donate half of their monthly salaries to the government to fight the corona pandemic. As per reports a total of 27 cricketers, including 17 players contracted with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), have decided to make the donation. The other 10 players have also represented the national team.

Chess Olympiad postponed till 2021
The 2020 edition of the chess Olympiad, scheduled to be held in Moscow, has been postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, International Chess Federation (FIDE) has announced. “FIDE has decided to postpone the 44th Chess Olympiad (including the competition for players with disabilities) and the FIDE Congress. These events, to be held in Moscow and Khanty-Mansiysk during the summer of 2020, are rescheduled to the summer of 2021 at the same locations,” said FIDE.

Ancelotti, Mourinho join coronavirus battle

Carlo Ancelotti surprised an Everton fan with motor neurone disease while Jose Mourinho helped deliver care packages as Premier League managers joined in the battle against the coronavirus crisis. The English top flight has been suspended until at least April 30 due to the pandemic but clubs and managers are pitching in to help vulnerable, isolated people.
