The first turbaned MP in UK’s House of Commons, Indian-origin Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, has been selected by Jeremy Corbyn to be his parliamentary private secretary as part of a mini reshuffle of the Labour leader’s top team in preparation for the final months of his leadership.

Dhesi will join Corbyn’s inner circle of advisers and act as a two-way channel of communication between the Labour leader and his 201 MPs. “This will be a great opportunity for me to be involved in the inner workings of the top level of the Labour party, including attending shadow cabinet and national strategy meetings,” Dhesi shared with media.
