Indian fans face trouble in Dubai stadium for PSL tie

A couple of Indian cricket fans were on Wednesday initially stopped from entering the Dubai Sports City Stadium to watch a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match before being allowed in, at a time when tensions between the two nations are at a peak. The news of two Indian nationals being stopped from entering the stadium spread like a wildfire but later on it was clarified that they were allowed to enter the premises. An official of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the custodians of the tournament, later clarified that they had nothing to do with the incident as the security of the entire stadium was under the control of the local police.

Unfit Kane ruled out, Tye is replacement

Australian fast bowler Kane Richardson has been ruled out of the remaining tour of India due to a side pain. Cricket Australia announced that the 28-year-old bowler felt some pain during the training session before the first T20I against India which led to his omission from the side in the first match as well. Andrew Tye has been named as Richardson’s replacement for the tour.

Alonso joins McLaren again

Two-time former world champion Fernando Alonso will continue to work with McLaren as an ambassador and a car tester for the next two years after retiring from Formula 1 in November, the manufacturer has announced. The Spaniard, a winner in 2005 and 2006 raced for the Woking-based constructor in 2007 and between 2015-2018 but will keep racing at the Indianapolis 500 this year looking to secure motorsport’s Triple Crown having already won a Monaco Grand Prix and a Le Mans 24

Polish chief for Wada

Poland’s Sports Minister Witold Banka was officially named as Europe’s candidate for president of the World Anti-Doping Agency, the Council of Europe announced. The 34-year-old former sprinter, a member of the Polish parliament since 2015, won a poll held at the council in January.
