Divya Dutta, who plays a negative role in her latest movie Chalk N Duster has got

lots of appreciations from the critics. But, looks like the audience is hating her

character.

Talking to media in India, Divya said, “People wanted me to be nicer. But now, they

feel like hating and beating me up. Recently, Helen aunty gave me a sweet

compliment saying that she wants to murder me. The reaction for this film! If more

people hate me, I’ll like it. Some are terming me as a devil, while some are calling

me Cinderella’s stepsister. So, it is a different kind of response for me. But I’m

grateful to people for hating me.”

In the film, Divya Dutta plays a principal who only looks at the commercial aspect of

education. She adds, “I have always chosen films with my own mind and you feel

like applying your mind in such a film and in doing such roles. When both the critics

and audiences love you, the actor feels fortunate.”
