It’s the hospitality industry’s biggest event of the year – and food truck of Humber College will be there.

From Feb. 28 to March 1, the truck will be at the Enercare Centre in downtown Toronto for the Restaurants Canada show.

Humber has partnered with Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers for the show. A competition planned for Monday, February 29 will feature one representative each from the college’s top three Iron Chef teams cooking an entrée using local ingredients.

Judging the competition will be Modern Culinary Academy’s John Placko, Joan Monfaredi from Park Hyatt, Matt Basile of Fidel Gastro Food Truck and Pangaea’s Martin Kouprie.

A cooking demo featuring the truck will provide quick and healthy meal ideas featuring local ingredients. After the demo, nutrition students will prepare smoothies for show visitors.

Humber’s Culinary Olympics team will also be at the show on Monday, competing in the morning’s Culinary Salon.
