Catching the imagination of millions of illegal immigrants, Democratic presidential aspirant Hillary Clinton has called for a comprehensive immigration reform, saying this would be part of her four big fight during her election campaign.
“The American people support comprehensive immigration reform not just because it’s the right thing to do – and it is – but because it will strengthen families, strengthen our economy, and strengthen our country,” Clinton said.
“That’s why we can’t wait any longer, we can’t wait any longer for a path to full and equal citizenship,” she said at an event in Nevada in her first major policy speech on providing path to citizenship to some 11 million illegal immigrants, including a large number of Indians.
She made clear that one of the four “big fights” driving her campaign will be strengthening families and communities – and immigration reform is crucial to that fight. —
