HAS JUSTIN TRUDEAU PUT OUT A FISCAL PLAN—OR NOT?

“We have a full costing coming out, no we, we’re the first that put out a fully costed framework”
–          Justin Trudeau, CTV Atlantic, September 20

So which is it, have the Liberals put out a fiscal framework or haven’t they?

“Despite Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau’s assertion that his party was the first to release a fiscal framework, the document he refers to only outlines a plan to run three deficits, including two of up to $10 billion, to pay for a $60-billion increase over 10 years in various infrastructure projects.”

The fact is, Justin Trudeau is promising years of deficits and he’s already maxed out his credit card — half way through this campaign he’s run out of money and not made a single commitment to healthcare or education.

In fact, today he opened the door to running even bigger deficits for even longer than he’s already promised.

The question remains. After maxing out his credit card, what will he have to cut in 2019 to balance the budget? Or will he continue to leave future generations with the bill.

Canada needs a sustainable, long-term plan – not short-term, unsustainable spending promises that lead to cuts and privatization.

Canadians deserve better.
