Members of Peel Regional Police’s Vice Unit have arrested a man in relation to a case of procuring prostitution.
Members of the Vice Unit became involved in an online investigation involving the luring of young women into prostitution. During the investigation potential victims were contacted via social media by a male. This male, through online conversations, attempted to procure the victims into becoming a prostitute. On March 16, 2015, Dimitri “Mitri” MAJDALANI, 30 years of age, from Mississauga, was arrested and charged with Attempting to Procure a Prostitute. He appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
Investigators are concerned that there may be other victims who have yet to report these incidents. If you have been approached by this male, either online or in person, you are asked to contact the Vice Unit.Many sex trade based Human Trafficking related offences including procuring can be linked to other serious crimes. These related crimes include drug trafficking, weapons, robberies, assaults and forcible confinement.
