Former Iowa safety Tyler Sash found dead

Former Iowa and New York Giants safety Tyler Sash was found dead at his home.

Sash, 27, played for head coach Kirk Ferentz at Iowa from 2008 to 2010 and was a member of the 2011 and 2012 New York Giants. He was drafted in the sixth round in 2011 and won a Super Bowl with the Giants.

The cause of death was not immediately confirmed by authorities. An autopsy is planned for Wednesday. The Iowa state medical examiner is investigating.
