Former diplomat missing in Dhaka

A retired Bangladeshi diplomat has been missing since Monday evening. Maroof Zaman, former Bangladesh ambassador to Vietnam, left his house in Dhanmondi on Monday evening to pick up his daughter Samiha Zaman from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

However, the 61-year-old never reached the airport and has been out of reach since then, media from Bangladesh has reported. Maroof’s family filed a complaint with the police station. Meanwhile, Khilkhet police has recovered the private car which Maroof took to drive to the airport.
