Bollywood actors Farhan Akhtar and Ranbir Kapoor have landed up in trouble for endorsing an online shopping portal which is allegedly duping its customers.
An FIR has been registered against the two actors for criminal breach of trust and forgery for promoting the online shopping site askmebazaar.com In his FIR, advocate Bansal alleged that he had ordered a 40-inch LED TV from the site on August 23 and had paid Rs 29,999 for the same through his debit card, but he did not get the product within 10 days, as promised. Rather, he received the invoice but not the product.
He has also registered FIR against the directors of the shopping portal – Sanjiv Gupta, Anand Sonbhadra, Piyush Pankaj, Kiran Kumar Sriniwas Murti and marketing officer Puja Goyal under the same sections as that of the actors.
According to the lawyer, people fall in the trap of this site as it is promoted by Farhan and Ranbir who are well known celebrities. Police is investigating the matter.
