The Brampton Film Office is excited to announce the launch of a new website, www.FilmitHere.ca. The site is an information portal that promotes Brampton’s film friendliness to the film industry and to residents and businesses of Brampton alike, in turn helping to keep cameras rolling in the city. “Brampton is one of the most vibrant and culturally diverse cities in the country and we take pride in rolling out the red carpet for the film industry,” says Councillor Jeff Bowman, Chair of the Economic Development Committee. “This new website is not only a great resource to make filming here easy, but is also an information source for residents and businesses.” The comprehensive website provides one point of access to everything producers, directors and location managers need to make filming in Brampton an easy decision. There is also a “Residents and Businesses” section, complete with details on what has been filmed in Brampton and the opportunity to offer a location for filming. Brampton was a hot spot for filming in 2014, seeing a 164 per cent increase in film inquiries over 2013, and a 59 per cent increase in film permits issued. That all amounted to more than $770,000 spent in Brampton in 2014, an increase of 146 per cent over 2013. “The Brampton Film Office is a one-stop shop for the film industry and this website is a great extension of our services here in Brampton,” says Sharon Wilcox, Manager, Tourism and Film Services for the City of Brampton. Contact the Brampton Film Office for your filming needs at 905.874.2664 or film@brampton.ca and visit www.FilmitHere.ca for more information.
