Who is Mira Rajput, after all, is a question that has kept many minds occupied ever since the identity of Shahid’s fiancee was made public. Here are things that you need to know about Mira Rajput:

  • Based in Delhi, Mira Rajput’s family hails from Punjab. The girl is the second of three daughters.
  • Mira studied in Lady Shri Ram College of the Delhi University. She completed her graduation in English this year.
  • According to earlier reports, Mira’s friends and classmates have described her as ‘intelligent’, ‘shy’ and someone who prefers keeping to herself.
  • Shahid and Mira met through the Radha Soami Satsang Beas, a religious group that both the Kapoors and the Rajputs are members of.
  •  While numerous reports have stated that Mira was initially iffy about her wedding to Shahid, given the fact that 12 long years separate the ages of the two (Shahid is 34, and Mira is 22). However, it was her elder sister who intervened and finally received Mira’s nod for the wedding.

Shahid Kapoor’s tight work schedule prevented him from hosting a bachelor’s bash that was to be held in Greece. The wedding, too, it had earlier been speculated, was to take place in the European country. However, owing to work issues, the actor had to give it a miss.

Vegetarian affair: The menu for the wedding was a vegetarian one, given the fact that both Shahid and Mira’s families, and several people in attendance are members of the Radha Soami Satsang Beas. For the after-party, however, a lavish spread with dishes from both Indian and Continental cuisines were on offer. Each member who attended the wedding also received a personalised chocolate box from Smitten Bakery.

Reception night: After the wedding in Delhi, the newlyweds will fly to Mumbai, where a grand reception is planned for July 12. Shahid’s film industry colleagues will be a part of the celebrations.
