TORONTO – As part of celebrations for Eid al-Fitr, Rob Oliphant and the Don Valley West Liberal Association hosted a barbecue for community members on Sunday, July 26 in Thorncliffe Park.
With beautiful weather and lots of halal burgers and hot dogs, nearly 2,000 people gathered to eat, rejoice and celebrate this special time of year.
During the celebrations, many took the opportunity to speak directly to Rob about the upcoming Federal election, and Liberal leader Justin Trudeau.
“Days like these are an excellent opportunity for me to hear the thoughts, concerns and ideas of residents” said Rob Oliphant, former Member of Parliament and current Liberal Party of Canada candidate for Don Valley West.  “More importantly, these events bring our community together and highlight the diverse, unique culture that makes Don Valley West one of the best places in the world to call home.”
