Walk Off The Earth will take to the Bell Main Stage for Canada Day celebrations at Chinguacousy Park on July 1, 2015. As part of an exciting program of entertainment from 11 am to 10 pm, see Walk Off The Earth, whose chart-topping hits and masterful videos have generated more than a half-billion YouTube views and 2 million subscribers. The band, based in Burlington, Ontario, combines organic, independent, sincere and honest original song writing, with cover interpretations and beautifully filmed videos. There will be festival programming from 11 am until 10 pm, when the night will end with a spectacular fireworks display to commemorate the Nation’s 148th anniversary. “Our City’s Canada Day celebrations are a highlight of the summer season for Brampton residents and visitors,” said Mayor Linda Jeffrey. “A great mix of local and international artists to entertain, activities for the entire family and the Citizenship Ceremony make the day a special one.” A Canadian Citizenship Ceremony will begin on the Community Stage at 3 pm with celebration cupcakes to follow. The Mayor will bring greetings and open the Bell Main Stage at 6 pm. Festival goers of all ages can enjoy amusement rides, a splash pad and petting zoo, mini-golf and paddle boat rides in the TD Kids Zone. The amusement rides will be available at the park daily beginning June 27 until Canada Day (Saturday/Sunday noon to 10 pm, Monday/Tuesday 4 to 10 pm). Market stalls will offer clothing, crafts, jewellery, souvenirs, sporting goods and tasty treats.
The Bell Main Stage will open at 6 pm with Hollerado, who, with a savvy DIY approach, along with their incredible talent and tenacity, gained international attention in short order. They will be followed by the Marc Joseph Band, one of the GTA’s top bands. At 8:30 pm the stage will be taken over by Walk Off The Earth, who will bring the night to the grand finale, the fireworks display. Chinguacousy Park is located at 9050 Bramalea Road. On-site parking is very limited. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the free shuttle service offered by Brampton Transit. For more information, visit www.brampton.ca or call 311.
