The Delhi High Court has rejected a plea for removing AAP’s chief ministerial candidate Arvind Kejriwal from the voters’ list of the city, observing that there was no legal provision for modifying the electoral rolls after the election process had begun. The HC clarified that it had gone into the merits of the objections raised by Congress leader Kiran Walia and NGO Maulik Bharat Trust on the enrolment of Kejriwal as a voter in Delhi. The EC had defended Kejriwal’s enrolment. Walia had pleaded against the AAP chief’s inclusion ignoring the fact that he was a resident of Ghaziabad.
