Canada Wide Arrest Warrant Issued for Male in 10th Homicide of the Year

Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have obtained a Canada wide arrest warrant for second degree murder for a Young Person, in relation to the region’s 10th homicide of 2018.

On Saturday, May 26, 2018 at approximately 1:13 a.m. Peel Regional Police responded to reports of a stabbing at a residence in the area of Tradewind Drive and Winston Churchill Boulevard in the City of Mississauga.  Upon arrival, officers located the victim with obvious signs of trauma.  The victim, Daniel Smith a 19 year-old Mississauga resident, was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators have received Judicial Authorization under the Youth Criminal Justice Act for the publication of this wanted Young Person’s identity.

Terrence Warner, age 17, is a young person currently wanted by Peel Regional Police for the offence of second degree murder in relation to the death of Daniel Smith.

Investigators are encouraging him to seek legal counsel and turn himself in to the nearest police station. He is believed to have fled the province, travelling to Saskatchewan. Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating Terrence Warner.

He is described as 5’11”, 130lbs, thin build, black, medium complexion, brown eyes, short afro style hair.

He is considered a danger to the public and is known to possess firearms and/or knives. If located, do not approach, call 911 immediately.
