BRAMPTON, ON: On Thursday, February 4, the City of Brampton was recognized with two awards and

one honorable mention at the Economic Development Council of Ontario (EDCO) President’s Dinner at

the Marriott Downtown Eaton Centre in Toronto.

The EDCO Awards of Excellence is a well-established program available to communities to have their

economic development initiatives judged by industry leaders against their peers in communities of

similar size. Award winners are viewed as leaders in economic development.

The Brampton Economic Development Office proudly accepted awards for its Brampton Economic

Development Map and its Four Year International Business Development and Marketing Plan 2015-

2018. The City also gained an honourable mention for its Brampton Entrepreneur Centre Youth

Entrepreneurship Video.

“These acknowledgments demonstrate the professionalism and expertise of our Economic

Development staff, as well as the City’s effective leadership in its economic development efforts,” says

Councillor Jeff Bowman, Chair, Economic Development Committee. “It is with pride that the City of

Brampton accepts this recognition by EDCO amongst such a high caliber of competition.”
