Punjab government has issued directions to all department heads to give due respect to all ministers and MLAs.

There have been complaints that members of Vidhan Sabha were not given “due respect” and “regard” by government officers whenever these members visit a government office.

In a letter to all heads of government departments, commissioners of divisions and deputy commissioners, the Joint Secretary, General Administration Department has conveyed it was obligatory on part of all officers to ensure respect and basic courtesy to MLAs.
