WINNIPEG – Canada’s Leader of the Official Opposition, Rona Ambrose, continued her tour across Canada with a stop today in Winnipeg to discuss the rapidly deteriorating economic situation across the country.

“I remain extremely concerned with the lack of response from the Trudeau Cabinet on the rapidly deteriorating economic situation across the country,” said Ms. Ambrose. “Prime Minister Trudeau’s comments yesterday that the Finance Minister is ‘working hard’ on the Budget isn`t enough to give Canadians confidence this new government has a real plan to address this situation other than running massive deficits.”

“I know Manitobans share our concerns, and they want to see a plan from the government. The sense of urgency from the Trudeau Liberals has been completely absent. With markets tumbling, energy prices remaining depressed and the dollar weakening, now is the time for the government to demonstrate leadership.”

“We have a strong Manitoba Caucus with MP`s Candice Bergen, Ted Falk, Larry Maguire, James Bezan and Bob Sopuck, who are standing up each and every day for hard-working Manitobans,” said Ms. Ambrose. “We are looking forward to getting back into the House of Commons next week to serve as the taxpayers’ watchdog and hold this Liberal government to account.”

Ms. Ambrose will be speaking today at the Manitoba Chamber of Commerce. In addition, she will be attending a pre-budget roundtable.
