Want to make Brampton a better place to live, work and play? The City wants to hear from Brampton youth aged 15-29 on all aspects of city life. From March 29 to May 1, the City is conducting a youth engagement survey to learn more about the perspective of young adults on employment, transit, affordability, arts, culture and more. “Every day Council makes decisions that impact youth – we want these choices to reflect the needs and opinions of young adults. To keep youth engaged and invested in our city there are a number of youth-related initiatives in our 2016-2018 Strategic Plan. I encourage all Brampton youth to participate in this survey and help us shape the city’s future,” said Mayor Linda Jeffrey. The survey plans to reach more than 800 of Brampton’s young adults at events, on the street, and online at http://sgiz.mobi/s3/Bramptonsurvey and through the City’s Twitter and Facebook. The 10-minute survey has approximately 50 questions. YouthfulCities will conduct the survey on behalf of the City of Brampton. This Toronto-based company specializes in youth engagement that connects youth, governments and changemakers to build the largest reservoir of youth-centred urban knowledge in the world, and have surveyed youth in more than 75 big cities around the world – including Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal. The survey questions were selected by City staff from a template used by YouthfulCities. The intent is to gather information to inform City plans, programs and services. Once it is complete, the survey data will be available to the general public through the City’s Open Data portal.
