The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has shifted the 50-over Asia Cup from India to United Arab Emirates as the Indian cricket board (BCCI) could not procure permission from the central government to host Pakistan. The tournament will now be held on September 13-28 in Dubai and Abu Dhabi after ACC’s all member nations agreed to change the venue. BCCI CEO Rahul Johri apprised the ACC board that the Indian team had got the clearance from the government to play Pakistan at a neutral venue. He said that chances of hosting Pakistan were next to nil in current scenario.
Cardinals sign free agent TE Williams
Free agent tight end Bryce Williams signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals. However, the terms were not announced. The 6-6, 260-pound Williams, 25, signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of East Carolina in 2016 and spent his rookie season on the Los Angeles Rams practice squad. Williams spent the 2017 offseason with the Rams, Seattle Seahawks and Carolina Panthers before being released by Carolina on Sept. 1.
