Sexual offences on trains and tubes double in five years in UK

Reported sexual offences on trains have more than doubled in the past five years, as per reports in British media.

British Transport Police figures show 1,448 offences were reported in 2016-17, up from 650 in 2012-2013. The rise shows the importance of work done by authorities to encourage women to report incidents. The majority of the incidents recorded were sexual assaults on females aged 13 and above.

The figures came to light following a freedom of information request from BBC Radio 5 live.

Arab nations trim demands for Qatar to six

PIO doc to become UK’s youngest to start work
