A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM THE PREMIER

On behalf of the Government of Ontario, I am honoured to extend warm greetings to everyone commemorating Vaisakhi, a festival of great significance to the Sikh community.
On this auspicious occasion, people across Ontario and around the world come together to celebrate the inauguration of the Khalsa in 1699 — the year in which Sikhism was born as a collective faith — and to usher in the new year.
I want to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the Sikh community. The members of this dynamic community are an integral part of our multicultural success story, and they continue to make Ontario an even better place to live. I am grateful for their many enduring contributions to the social, economic and cultural life of our province.
I offer my sincere best wishes for a joyous and memorable celebration of Vaisakhi, and for happiness, good health and prosperity in the year ahead.

Kathleen Wynne
