Stephanie Del Valle from Puerto Rico was crowned Miss World 2016 winning the top prize in the 66th edition of the pageant held in the United States. The 19-year-old law and communications student was ecstatic as she sat down to be crowned and said it was an “honour and a great responsibility” to represent her Caribbean homeland. Stephanie is a student who speaks Spanish, English and French, and hopes to get into the entertainment industry, reports telegraph.co.uk.
Miss World 2015 Mireia Lalaguna Royo crowned the 19-year-old Stephanie. Stephanie pipped the other top four finalists from Kenya, Indonesia, Dominican Republic and Philippines to win the title. The first runnerup was Yaritza Miguelina Reyes Ramirez of the Dominican Republic, followed by second runner-up Natasha Mannuela from Indonesia. Indian contestant Priyadarshini made it to the top 20 at the pageant.
