Exuding confidence that the Supreme Court verdict in the Ayodhya case will be based on “evidence and not faith”, prominent Muslim body Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind said it will respect the top court’s ruling in the matter, and also appealed to Muslims to abide by it.Jamiat chief Syed Arshad Madani, at a press conference, also claimed that its mediation offer that Muslims will give up the claim on the ‘Ram Chabutra’ provided the Hindu parties give up their claim over the three-dome portion.

Arrested for Posting “Objectionable” Photo of PM Modi on Social Media

A scrap dealer was arrested in Noida for allegedly posting an objectionable picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media, the police said. Raja alias Javed posted the picture on WhatsApp and Facebook, the police said. The mobile phone used by him for uploading the picture has been seized and he has been remanded in judicial custody by a local court, the official added. His identity was being guarded as it was a sensitive issue.

Gold Bars Worth 2 Crores Found Hidden In Plane Toilet

Customs officials have seized unclaimed gold bars worth Rs. 2.24 crore concealed in the rear toilet of an Air India aircraft, which arrived at Chennai from Dubai. Acting on a tip-off that the precious metal was being smuggled in the plane from Dubai, the Customs sleuths rummaged the flight at the airport a statement said. Four bundles wrapped in black adhesive tapes were found concealed in the rear toilet of the international flight, which was to fly to New Delhi in the domestic sector, it said.Forty-eight gold bars with foreign marking, weighing 5.6 kg and valued at Rs. 2.24 crore were recovered.  It has been seized as unclaimed under the Customs Act and an investigation is on, the statement added.
