The reports of Anushka Sharma getting married to her longtime boyfriend, Indian skipper Virat Kohli, on December 12, are untrue. Anushka’s spokesperson Monika Bhattacharya is reported to have told media in India.
On Wednesday evening, rumours of Anushka and Virat’s wedding became a hot topic of discussion. Several news channels stopped regular transmission to report that the couple’s wedding will take place in Milan, Italy. The denial from the Bollywood actress’ spokesperson came after she saw the false story running everywhere on the electronic and digital media.
“There is absolutely no truth to it” she is reported to have saod.
The fact that Virat has been rested for the forthcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka starting from December 10 was what led news channels to assume that the wedding bells were indeed ringing for the star cricketer. Besides that, the buzz that Anushka had taken a break from her work became another reason for media to speculate about the couple’s wedding.
Interestingly, within a few hours of the false story getting out, fans had started showing their excitement on the social media. #Virushka was amongst the top trends on Twitter.
