Victim of Apartment Fire Succumbs to Injuries in Hospital

On Wednesday January 11,2017 at 11:20am, Mississauga Fire and Peel Regional Police responded to an active fire in an apartment located at 620 Lolita Gardens, unit #1010, Mississauga.

Mississauga Fire located a male victim within the residence and he was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. On January 13, 2017, the victim succumbed to his injuries while in hospital. The victim has been identified as Frederick STAINES, 55 years of age from the City of Mississauga. Frederick STAINES was the lone occupant of the unit.

The fire originated in the kitchen and there does not appear to be any criminal intent or any threat to public safety.
