Two Young People Arrested for Possession of Stolen Property

Officers from 12 Division Uniform Patrol arrested two young persons in relation to several thefts from motor vehicles in the City of Mississauga.

On Sunday June 4, 2017 at approximately 6:22 a.m. two young males were checking car doors in the area of Melton drive in the City of Mississauga. Upon arrest both males were in possession of property taken from several vehicles.

A 15 year-old male young offender from Mississauga was arrested and charged with:

–          1 count Assault  

–          9 counts Possession of Stolen Property

–          1 count Possession of a Controlled substance (Marihuana)

A 16 year-old male young offender from Mississauga was arrested and charged with:

–          9 counts Possession of Stolen Property

The two young people were released on a promise to appear with conditions and a first appearance court date for July of 2017.

Investigators would like to remind the community to not leave valuables in their vehicles, ensure that doors are locked at all times, and if the vehicle is parked outside of a garage to have proper lighting in the area.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identity of the Young Person charged in this investigation is protected.

Two sentenced to life in prison 

Two men convicted in the 2014 stabbing death of a Newmarket man have been sentenced to life in prison.

John Jansen and Mayhar Dadollahi-Sarab were sentenced in the second-degree murder of 65-year-old Ronidy Roseborough, who was stabbed to death. When police was called at the site of incidence,- the area of Davis Drive and Huron Heights Drive for a reported stabbing they located two male victims with stab wounds. One of the victims, later identified as Roseborough, died from his injuries and the second victim was taken to hospital in non-life-threatening condition. Dadollahi-Sarab and Jansen were also sentenced to three years in prison for aggravated assault in relation to the injuries the surviving victim sustained.
