Transit Projects at Risk Thanks to Yet Another NDP Mistake

Andrea Horwath risks delays to key transit projects in Peel Region

BRAMPTON—With a platform riddled with errors, oversights and omissions the NDP are facing new questions about mistakes in the platform that put billions of dollars of transit projects at risk. Either by accident or design the NDP have withdrawn provincial commitments to the Federal-Provincial Transit and Infrastructure Framework – putting all those projects in limbo – including right here in Peel Region.

More transit projects are at risk of huge delays because of Andrea Horwath’s negligence in crafting her transit policy.

Economist Mike Moffatt confirmed that in the NDP budget “some programs already in place would not be funded under the NDP plan.”

The NDP risks delays to critical projects across Ontario, including the Brampton (Queen) and Mississauga (Dundas) rapid transit projects.

This is all because the NDP decided to rip out an entire page of last year’s budget, something they claimed was “no mistake”. Now, their choice risks billions in carefully-negotiated infrastructure spending with the federal government.

Did Andrea Horwath mean to cut funding for major transit projects or is it just another bad math mistake?

Regardless, it calls into question the NDP’s readiness to govern, manage the economy and makes their plan increasingly unrealistic.
