Traffic Collision Leads to Firearm Charges

Investigators from 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have charged a male with numerous firearms related offences.

On Monday, August 6, 2018 at approximately 6:00 a.m. police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision at Hurontario Street and Square One Drive in the City of Mississauga.

During the collision investigation, a firearm and several rounds of ammunition were located within the vehicle. As a result of the discovery, the driver of the motor vehicle was arrested.

Investigators from 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have charged Adelard MAXIS, a 41 year-old male from Montreal, with the offences: Unauthorized possession of firearm; careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition; possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm; knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm; occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm.

Adelard MAXIS was held for a bail hearing at the A. Grenville & William Davis Court House in the City of Brampton.
