‘There are bigger people who have done much more for India’

In times when Bollywood is going gaga over biopics on sportstars — and one on Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is ready — former Indian opening batsman Gautam Gambhir disapproves of the idea of glorifying a cricketer’s life by making a biopic. “I’d never go to a cinema hall to watch a biopic on a cricketer. I’m not a big fan of people making biopics on sportsmen, especially cricketers. There are far bigger people who have done much more for the country. Films should be made on them. Look at the sacrifices people in the defence services make, no one even remembers them. Why don’t people make biopics on a jawaan or a captain? I’d never want someone to make a biopic on me,” said the cricketer.
