Actor Sushant Singh Rajput isn’t part of Robby Grewal’s thriller Romeo Akbar Walter anymore. “Unfortunately, I will not be part of Romeo Akbar Walter due to changes in my prior commitments, though I love the story,” the actor was quoted as saying by a leading daily from Mumbai. Sushant returned the signing amount of `4 crore. His fee was reportedly `9 crore.

Dangal girl Sanya Malhotra to co star Nawaz

Nawazuddin Siddiqui will team up with Dangal girl Sanya Malhotra, who played Babita Phogat. This film is Ritesh Batra’s next after he directed The Lunchbox, which also starred Nawazuddin alongside Irrfan Khan. “Sanya came through multiple rounds of auditions while Nawaz was always attached to the film,” Ritesh is reported to have said.

Alia Bhatt and team struck at Patiala

Actress Alia Bhatt and the crew of her upcoming film Raazi had to extend their stay in Patiala after violence in Panchkula forced them to suspend shooting. The movie is based on a story about a Kashmiri girl who marries a Pakistani officer being played by Vicky Kaushal and spies for the Indian intelligence during the 1971 war.
The shooting scheduled at the local Circuit House was cancelled by director Meghna Gulzar when violence erupted in Punjab and Haryana. The team was scheduled to wrap up shooting by September 12. “Owing to the prevailing situation, the entire crew is camping at Hotel Neemrana. The suspension of mobile internet has also made it difficult for the crew to coordinate. Many among them had special plans for Ganesh Chaturthi, but they are not taking any chances,” a daily from Chandigarh quoted its sources as saying.

SC asks Dilip Kumar to deposit Rs 20 cr

The Supreme Court of India has asked thespian superstar Dilip Kumar to deposit Rs 20 crore with its registry as part payment to a Mumbai-based real estate firm with whom the deal to develop his prime Pali Hill property ran into rough weather a decade ago.

The actor had entered into the agreement with Prajita Developers Pvt Ltd for developing his property, measuring 2412 square yards.

The dispute arose later as no construction was raised and the veteran actor wanted back the plot whose possession was with the firm. A Bench headed by Justice J Chelameswar asked the Bollywood actor to deposit the amount in the form of demand draft within four weeks.
