Summer fun continues in Garden Square

Summer in Garden Square, Brampton continues with a full month of programming this August. Watch the Square transform daily, and enjoy special events for the whole community.

“Garden Square continues to prove it’s the place to be for Bramptonians and visitors looking to make the most of summer. With something for everyone, I encourage all residents and visitors to head to the Square, explore Brampton’s downtown and make great memories locally by enjoying a variety of live local entertainment or taking in a movie under the stars,” said Mayor Linda Jeffrey.

Parks n’ Wreck : On Sunday, August 12 from noon to 7 pm, Bramptonians are invited to enjoy a free outdoor streetdance event. Parks N Wreck will showcase the vibrancy and diversity of streetdance artistry in Brampton, and will offer free workshops, streetdance battles and cyphers.

MoW! On the Move :Inspired by the style of flash mobs, MoW! On the Move will bring together over 100 non-professional dancers to perform a 20-minute choreographed number on Sunday, August 19. Don’t miss this chance to take in the efforts of months of rehearsals and dedication from fellow Bramptonians! The event will run from 1 to 2:30 pm.

East Coast Kitchen Party :All Maritimers and Mainlanders – and those who are curious – are invited to indulge in the culture of the east coast on Sunday, August 26 from 2 to 8 pm at the East Coast Kitchen Party.
Daily programming will continue in the Square until August 31:

Brampton on Screen: Mondays, 7 pm
See local digital media artists showcase their work on the big screen. Featuring short and full films, YouTube stars, music videos and more!

Unboxed (Just for Youth):Tuesdays, 7 pm. Garden Square is the spot for young people to connect and try something new each Tuesday – for free! Activities range from spoken word, painting, sports, and more.

Brampton on Stage:Wednesdays, 7 pm. This is your chance to enjoy live music and see some of Brampton’s brightest independent emerging artists before they make it big!

Bollywood Film Night:Thursdays, 7 pm. New this year! Garden Square partners with the International Film Festival of South Asia to present Bollywood box office hits. August titles include Love Aaj Kal, Chalo Dilli, Mary Kom, and Heer Ranjha.

Friday Night Live:Fridays, 8 pm (opener); 9 pm (headliner)
Watch Garden Square come to life with free weekly concerts from some of the industry’s biggest names. Featuring a range of genres, including country, rock, hip-hop, indie and rap.

Saturday Night Movies: Saturdays, 7 pm and 9 pm
Enjoy a screening of two family-friendly box office hits every Saturday night, beginning at 7 pm and 9 pm. Come early to take part in pre-film activities, such as meet and greets with costumed characters, pop-up performances, giveaways, and more. August titles include Moana, The Greatest Showman, Wonder, Kung Fu Panda, Emoji Movie, A Wrinkle in Time, Paddington 2, and The Breadwinner.
